One Eternal God and Trinity
We believe in the one eternal God and in the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Creator and Lord of the world, who governs all things according to the purpose of His will, calling out of the world a people for himself and sending them back into the world to be His servants and witnesses for the extension of His Kingdom, the building of Christ’s church to the glory of His name.

One Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We believe in the one Saviour, Jesus Christ Himself being the only God-man, who died for the sins of mankind and was raised from the dead according to the scriptures; the only ransom for sinners and mediator between God and man; who is exalted above every other name as Saviour of the world; who offers forgiveness of sins and the liberating gift of the Spirit to all who repent, believe and come to him personally; and those who reject Him, by so doing, also reject the joy of salvation and condemn themselves to eternal separation from God.

Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, sent by God the Father to bear witness to his Son, whose power and works among men lead to the conviction of sin, faith in Christ, new birth and Christian growth; and speaking through Scriptures illumines the minds of God’s people in every culture to perceive the truth and disclose to the whole church of the wisdom of God.
Old and New Testament Scriptures.
We believe in the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures as the infallible Word of God with power to accomplish His purpose of salvation.
Return of Jesus Christ.
We believe in the return of Jesus Christ personally and visibly in power and glory to consummate His salvation and judgement; the interim period being filled with evangelism by the people of God, who eagerly await for Christ’s return, the coming of the new heaven and new earth in which righteousness will dwell and God will reign forever.

We commit ourselves to these core values, repenting when we fall short and seeking the power of the Spirit to more fully embody them in the future.

Faith. We believe mission springs from God’s initiative, is guided by God’s Spirit and is accomplished through God’s power. We desire to be grounded in and faithful to Scripture in our understanding and practice of mission. We endeavour to follow the example of Jesus, who embodied God’s love by identifying with those he served. We continually call upon and listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in prayer. We strive to live out our faith in all we do.

Service. We believe Jesus met human need with a holistic salvation, one that touched all aspects of life. We witness to Jesus Christ in ways that include verbal proclamation of the gospel, response to human need and care for creation. We cultivate integrity, stewardship, honesty, transparency and accountability in all aspects of our work. We encourage flexible and creative responses to the leading of the Holy Spirit as we seek to be of service to God, God’s people and the world.

Community. We believe God calls humanity into relationships of love and support in community. We care for all people with whom we work, both those who are served and those who offer their lives in service. We engage in mission in ways that respect the giftedness of all our partners and the diversity that God creates and in which God delights. We are committed to partnership and cooperation with a wide range of agencies, both within and beyond the American Baptist movement, to fulfils God’s call and our mission. We strive to build relationships of mutual giving and receiving.

Missions and Outreach Ministry
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.”
Counselling Ministry
Helping people cope with their problems is not just the work of Ministers or trained counsellors, but the task of every Christian no matter at what stage he may be in the Christian life.

Generosity is a high value in churches. The Bible teaches that followers of God should not be focused on wealth; rather, they should be good stewards of what they have been given and share what they have with those who are less fortunate than themselves (1 Timothy 6:6-8) Being generous with their resources is one way believers can be a part of the work of God on earth.

What Is Church Giving?
Church giving refers to the financial contributions gifted to a church. The act can be seen as part of an individual’s discipleship with God through their faith in Jesus Christ and His teachings on giving to those in need (Luke 11:41). Gifts may be given from those inside or outside the congregation and may include offerings from non-members. These contributions may be given through regular tithing, one-time offerings, or recurring gifts.

Why Is Church Giving Important?
Giving is important because it helps the church continue its mission in service to God. Church leaders and members decide how to allocate those gifts in support of missions, weekly services, community initiatives, those who are less fortunate, programs that encourage spiritual growth, and more.
Jesus Died for the Church.
Yes – Jesus died for you and me as individuals. But He never intended the Christian life to be a solitary journey. Ephesians 5:25-27 tells us that Jesus died for the Church – to sanctify it, cleanse it, and present it holy and blameless to God. Acts 2 begins with the disciples waiting for the coming of the Holy Spirit and ends with the amazing growth of the church. In Acts 2:41-47 there is no hint of the individuality of the believer, except for the faith leading to salvation. Otherwise, believers were together, working, learning, praying, eating, and giving.

My Giving Reflects My Commitment
God knows that my level of giving is a direct reflection of my commitment to Him – and He wants me to realize that fact as well. 2 Corinthians 8:3-5 says the believers in Macedonia gave freely, but “they first gave themselves to the Lord.” This is the model, the hope God has for His children. We are to give ourselves to Him and out of that relationship will grow the generosity that gives to the church.
God Has Given to Us
We should desire to give – freely, generously, and cheerfully – because that is how God has given to us. Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?” As Jesus said in Matthew 10:8, we are to give as we have received: “Freely you received, freely give.” God has generously given us, His children, all we need to live godly lives, as Peter states in 2 Peter 1:3, “Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.” We are to give as He gave.

God Blesses Those Who Give
God has divinely conditioned His blessings to us on our generosity. Luke 6:38 states this plainly, “Give, and it will be given to you.” However, probably the most well-known passage regarding this truth is in Malachi 3:10, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.” We should not ‘give to get’ but the truth God has shared is that it matters to Him that we do give. He opens His hands when we open ours.

Believers Need to Support the Church
All believers are expected to support the work of the Lord done through the Church. Paul states in 1 Timothy 5:17-18, “The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honour, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, ‘You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing,’ and ‘The labourer is worthy of his wages.’” Paul also commended believers in Philippi who gave to his ministry. “You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs” (Philippians 4:15-16).

A thoughtful reading of 2 Corinthians 8 should lead you to the same conclusion: God is pleased with believers who give to the work of the Church. While I do not want to quote the entire chapter here, I urge you to read it for yourself. However, for now, consider verses 3 and 4. “For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord, begging us with much urging for the favour of participation in the support of the saints.” God has placed the Church in the world to impact the world with the message of grace and forgiveness through Jesus. That can only happen when believers open their wallets and purses and support the eternal work of the church. BTW – giving your time to this endeavour is equally important!
